AN ACT to authorize the Commissioners of Som-
erset county to establish a Ferry at Shell Town,
over the Pocomoke river.
|

Authorised
to provide for
construction
of wharf, and
also for boat.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners of
Somerset county, be and they are hereby authorized
to provide for the construction of a public wharf on
the west side of the Pocomoke river, at Shell Town,
and also to provide a suitable boat to be used as a
ferry boat, and to establish a public ferry at Shell
Town.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That in order to accom-
plish the several matters mentioned in the foregoing
section, the said county commissioners are hereby
authorized to appoint, on or before the first day of
June next, three commissioners to contract there-
for, on the terms, in the manner, and upon the
conditions to be prescribed by the said county com-

missioners; Provided, the whole cost of all of the
said several matters mentioned in said first section,
shall not exceed the sum of one thousand dollars.

Authorised
to levy.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said county
commissioners are hereby authorised to levy upon
the assessable property of said county, the said sum
of one thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may
be needed for the purpose aforesaid, to meet the
contract mentioned in the second section of this
act.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.
