mitted over to the jailor, one dollar and ten cents
per mile, for every mile he may have to travel to,
and from the prisoners place of residence, for levy-
ing fieri facias and return twenty cents, for sum-
moning and swearing appraisers on distress for
rent fifty cents, for levying a distress twenty five
cents.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT entitled, an act to amend the one hun-
dred and sixty-eighth and one hundred and sixty-
ninth sections of article sixteen of the Code of
Public Local Laws relating the compensation of
the sheriff of Prince George's county.
|

|
Repealed.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the one hundred and sixty-
eighth and one hundred and sixty-ninth sections of
article sixteen of the Code of Public Local Laws
relating to the sheriff, be and the same are hereby
repealed, and the following enacted as a substitute
therefore:

Compensation
|
SEC. 2. The sheriff of said county shall be allowed
fifty cents a day for keeking and supporting each
person committed to the jail of said county, for
breach of the peace or any criminal offence, to be
levied and paid by the county commissioners.
SEC. 8. He shall be entitled to receive fifty cents
a day for keeping and supporting each runaway
slave committed to said jail, to be paid by the
owner thereof.
SEC. 4. He shall be entitled to receive two dollars
a day for attendance upon the Orphans' court of
said county, to be levied and paid by the county
commissioners.
