LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 139.

transportation of passengers and merchandise, and
all property, of what kind soever, in the cars or
carriages of either company, as may appear to said
president and directors convenient and advanta-
geous.

Powers vest-
ed.

SEC. 18. And be it enacted, That the said com-
pany shall have full power to purchase and to hold
all real estate necessary for the purposes of the said
railroad, or any of their works, to buy and build
houses and shops for corporate purposes, and when
the final survey of any part of the said road shall
be made by the company's engineer, such survey
shall be recorded in the recorder's or clerk's office
of Baltimore county, and the record thereof shall
be evidence of the route and limits of the said road.

Reservation.

SEC. 19. And be it enacted, That the legislature
hereby reserves to itself the right to alter, amend,
or repeal this act or any part thereof.

In force.

SEC. 20. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect and have full operation from the day of
its passage.

CHAPTER 139.

AN ACT to make valid a Deed from Benjamin
Blades to Elisha Jones.

Made valid.

SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the deed from Benjamin Blades
to Elisha Jones, of Worcester county, dated the
twenty-fifth day of December, eighteen hundred
and thirty-seven, by power of attorney to him
given by William H. Sterling and Polly, his wife,
residents of the State of Illinois, Fulton county,
conveying all that tract or parcel of land called
Repentane and Addition, situated and lying in
Worcester county aforesaid, in this State, and that
said deed, not being recorded, be made valid in all
respects as it would have been had it been recorded

Proviso.

within the time limited by law; Provided, how-
ever, that this act shall not be construed to affect
in any manner any suit at law or in equity pend-
ing at the date of the passage of this act, and that
