CHAP. 124.

by, declared to be valid and effectual in law, for
all the purposes in said deed mentioned.

Trustees may

purchase
land.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said trustees
and their successors (appointed in the manner
aforesaid, ) be and they are hereby authorized to
purchase for the benefit and use of the said Meet-
ings, or either of them, any additional piece or
pieces of land, not exceeding the quantity of ten
acres; Provided, however, that the property so pur-
chased shall not exceed in value the sum of five
thousand dollars.

Repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That any and all
parts of the original act to which this is a supple-
ment, and all parts of the supplements thereto,
which are inconsistent with the provisions of this
act, be, and the same are hereby repealed.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall

CHAPTER 124.
AN ACT to authorize the clerk of the Circuit court

Passed Feb.
29, 1860.

for Talbot county, to transcribe one of the mar-
riage records in his office.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, the record of marriage licenses granted
in Talbot county from the year seventeen hundred
and ninety-four to eighteen hundred and thirty-
nine is in a dilapidated condition, and unless speed-
ily transcribed may prove a total loss; therefore,

record.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the clerk of the Circuit court for
Talbot county, be and he is hereby authorized and
required to transcribe the said record, stating the
names of the parties, according to the practice now
adopted in the said clerk's office, and to provide a
suitable index for the same, and the said record
when completed shall be substituted for the original
and shall be as valid and have the same effect as the
original record.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
of said county be and they are hereby authorised
