which the tax lists shall be delivered to the collec-
tor appointed and authorised to receive and collect
the same, but no sale of real estate shall be made
until after the personal estate of the said tax payer
within the limits of said town, shall have been first
taken and sold for the payment thereof.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the assessor,
when appointed by the commissioners of the said
town, shall qualify as soon as convenient thereafter,
as now required by law, and shall, within sixty
days from the date of his qualification, return the
valuation and assessment, required by him to be
made, to the said commissioners, unless further
time shall be granted to him by the corporate au-
thorities of the said town, which they are hereby
empowered in their discretion to do.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of the passage thereof.

AN ACT appropriating a sum of money in payment
for legal services rendered by Daniel M. Henry,
Esq.. at the request of the Governor of this
State.

to pay.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer, upon the war-
rant of the Comptroller, be, and he is hereby di-
rected, to pay to Daniel M. Henry the sum of three
hundred dollars for legal services rendered by him,
at the request of the Governor of this State, in the
prosecution of Thomas E. Williams, for forgery, in
the Circuit court for Dorchester county, and the
said sum of three hundred dollars is hereby appro-
priated out of any unexpended money in the trea-
sury.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the date of its passage.
|
