thorised by this article, and may for that purpose
also, press at the expense of the State, any steam-
boat or other vessel belonging to any citizen of this
State not actually engaged in carrying the United
States mail.

CHAP. 105.
|

SEC. 4. And the following enacted as a substitute
for the sixteenth section of said article: No person
shall fish in the Potomac river or its tributaries
during the months of March, April, May and June,
with gill nets or seines of any kind other than such
nets or seines as may be laid out from and hauled
to and landed upon the shores of the said river and
its tributaries, and every person so offending, shall
upon conviction thereof forfeit and pay a sum not
less than fifty nor more than five hundred dollars,
one half of which sum shall go to the informer and

the other half to the State; Provided, that nothing
in this section shall be construed to prevent bona
fide citizens of the counties bordering on the afore-
said waters, from fishing the shores they own or
occupy, as they have hitherto been in the habit of
doing.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to authorise the Commissioners of
Howard County to levy a sum for the rebuilding
of the school house in Primary School District
Number One.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted By the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the commissioners of Howard
county are hereby authorised and empowered at
their next annual levy for county purposes to levy
on the assessable property of the county such sum
as they may deem necessary to pay for the rebuild-
ing of the school house in district Number one,
lately destroyed by fire.
