AN ACT making valid two Indentures made be-
tween J. B. Nichols and Horatio Ridout of the
one part and George J. Collins of the other
part.
|

WHEREAS, two indentures were executed on the
twelfth day of August, eighteen hundred and fifty-
eight by and between J. B. Nichols and Horatio
Ridout, justices of the peace in and for Anne
Arundel county, of the one part, and George J.
Collins, of said county of the other part, binding
out as apprentices to the said George J. Collins,
until they had attained the age of eighteen years,
two free negroe girls named Nancy Smith and
Ellen Banks; and whereas, the said indentures
were erroneously recorded in the office of the clerk
of the Circuit court for Anne Arundel county, in-
stead of the Orphans' court for said county; There-
fore;

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That said indentures from the said
J. B. Nichols and Horatio Ridout, to the said
George J. Collins, be and the same are hereby
made as valid and effective as if the same had been
duly recorded in the Orphans' court of Anne Arun-
del county; Provided, the said indenture shall be
recorded in the said Orphans' court within three
months from the passage of this act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
