AN ACT to authorise the Surveyor of Allegany
county to copy one of the books of his office.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That the Surveyor of Allegany coun-
ty, be and he is hereby authorised and required to
procure a new blank book of proper size and of good
quality and therein accurately to copy all the mat-
ter recorded and contained in the record book of
his office known as Book No. 2, and after a full
transcript or copy of said book shall have been made
as hereby provided for, the said new book and the
transcript or copy so made shall have the same ef-
fect as evidence that the original book now has, but
the said Surveyor shall carefully keep and preserve
both the old and the new book so far as the same
can be done.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the
duty of the commissioners of said county to levy
upon the assessable property of said county a sum
of money for the use of said Surveyor, sufficient to
pay for said book and the labor of copying in the
same.
