CHAP. 94.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the concerns of
the institution hereby intended to be incorporated,
shall at all times be subject to the inspection of the
Treasurer of the State of Maryland, or such other
officer or agent of the State as may be selected for
that purpose by either branch of the Legislature.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of the said corporation, shall not exceed the sum
of one hundred and fifty thousand dollars, until an
additional capital is authorised by the General
Assembly.

shall have at all times the right to alter or annul

AN ACT making valid an indenture between J.
B. Nichols and Horatio Ridout, of the one part,
and Addison Johnson, of the other part.
|

WHEREAS, An indenture was executed on the
twelfth day of August, eighteen hundred and fifty-
eight, by and between J. B. Nichols and Horatio
Ridout, justices of the peace in and for Anne Arun-
del county, of the one part, and Addison Johnson
of said county, of the other part, binding out as an
apprentice to the said Addition Johnson, until she
had attained the age of eighteen years, a free negro
girl named Nancy Butler; And whereas, the said
indenture was erroneously recorded in the office of
the clerk of the Circuit court for Anne Arundel
county, instead of the Orphans' court of said county,
therefore;

SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the said indenture from the said
J. B. Nichols and Horatio Ridout, to the said Ad-
dison Johnson, be and the same is hereby made as
valid and effective as if the same had been duly re-
