CHAP. 93.

Compensa-
tion.

the Governor shall direct the Comptroller to draw
upon the Treasurer his warrant for the sum of two
hundred dollars per annum, for her support in the
said institution, in the same manner as if she was
recommended to the Governor by the county com-
missioners of Saint Mary's county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the day of its passage.

CHAPTER 93.

AN ACT to incorporate the Mechanics' Loan and
Savings Institution, at Hagerstown, Maryland.

Incorporated.

SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Thomas A. Boult, Lewis Heist,
Henry Freaner, Henry Gantz, William Updegraff,
D. C. Aughinbaugh, Charles Cranwell, Warfield
Staley, William Troxell, George W. Smith, Jr.,
Joseph B. Loose, Robert C. Thornsburg, George
R. Bowman, L. McKee, C. Hilliard and all and every
other person hereafter becoming members of Me-
chanics' Loan and Savings Institute, in the manner
hereafter mentioned, shall and are hereby created
and made a corporation or body politic by the name
and style of the Mechanics' Loan and Savings In-
stitute, and by that name shall have succession and
be capable by law to hold and dispose of real and
personal property, by deed or otherwise, to sue and
be sued, plead and be impleaded, answer and de-
fend, and be answered and defended in courts of
law and equity or in any other place whatsoever,
and to receive and make all deeds, transfers, con-
tracts, conveyances and grants whatsoever, and to
make, have and use a common seal and the same to
change and renew at pleasure, and generally to do
every other act or thing necessary to carry into
effect the provisions of this act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That there shall be a
meeting of the Mechanics' Loan and Savings In-
stitute, on such day in the month of March or at
any other time, and at such place as six persons
first above named, or any three of them, shall ap-
