CHAP. 85.

Bounds.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, the boundaries of said dis-
trict shall be as follows, to wit: Beginning at the
north-east side of the mouth of the creek commonly
called Bock creek, and thence running southwardly
until it intersects, in a straight line, another creek
commonly called Fishing creek, all that portion ly-
ing west of said line and included in what was for-
merly called Dames Quarters district, to constitute
Tangier district, or election district number fifteen,
and all lying east of said line to constitute Dames
Quarter district number four, as heretofore.

CHAPTER 85.

17, 1860.

AN ACT to amend the twelfth article of the Code
of Public Local Laws, by amending the ninety-
seventh section thereof, which authorises the levy
of a tax for the support of schools by increasing
the rate of said tax and by amending the one
hundred and eighth section thereof, which gives
the school commissioners power to procure houses
for the use of schools, by giving them power to
sell houses and lots purchased for that purpose.

Levy.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners of
Harford county, shall levy an annual tax not ex-
ceeding twelve cents on the hundred dollars upon
the assessable property of the county to be collected
as other county charges and applied to the public
schools.

Power to
lease or erect
building for
schools.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the executive
board of school commissioners shall have power to
lease for one or more years suitable buildings for
the use of the public school; and whenever the
school fund shall be deemed sufficient they may
procure lots by lease or purchase in the name of
Harford county, and erect suitable building thereon
for the said public schools and may in their discre-
tion sell and convey any property, so by them pur-
chased or acquired by Harford county in any other
