CHAPTER 58.

14, 1860.

AN ACT to compensate Otho Scott and Hiram
McCullough for services rendered as Codifiers
under the acts of January sessions, eighteen hun-
dred fifty-two and eighteen hundred and fifty-
three.

Authorised
to pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer, on the warrant
of the Comptroller, be and he is hereby direct to pay
to Otho Scott and Hiram McCullough, each twenty-
two thousand and five hundred dollars, as full com-
pensation for services rendered as codifiers under
the acts of January session, eighteen hundred and
fifty-two and eighteen hundred and fifty-three.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 59.

14, 1860.

A SUPPLEMENT to an Act entitled, An act to
incorporate the Eastern Shore Railroad Company.

Directors.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That from and after the next annual
meeting of the stockholders of the Eastern Shore
Railroad Company, the number of directors of the
said company shall be seven instead of five, who
shall have the same qualifications and be elected as
prescribed by the original act, to which this is a
supplement, and at least a majority of the said di-
rectors shall be citizens of the State and actually

no effect and operation unless accepted by the stock-
holders at their next annual meeting.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That upon ap-
plication of the said company, the judge of the
eighth judicial circuit of this State shall appoint
three discreet and sensible men, citizens and resi-
dents of the county, in which the greater part of
