To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II., SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
.edition) DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at a Special Election held
in the Town of Cheverly, Prince George's County, April 11,
1949, an Act known as Chapter 356 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1949, was submitted to the voters of Cheverly,
for their adoption or rejection under the provisions thereof,
said Act being:
An Act repealing the Charter of the Town of Cheverly
and enacting a new corporate charter in lieu thereof.
AND I DO CERTIFY, That at said election 55 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 356 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1949, and 257 votes were cast against
the adoption of said Act, a majority being cast against the
adoption of the said referred law it has therefore failed of
ratification.
