To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II., SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
edition) DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at an election held in the
Town of Fairmount Heights, Prince George's County, Mary-
land, May 2, 1949, an Act known as Chapter 354 of the Acts
of 1949, was submitted to the voters of Fairmount Heights,
for their adoption or rejection under the provisions thereof,
said Act being:

An Act to vote for or against increased property tax
rate.

AND I DO CERTIFY, That at said election 93 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 354 of the Acts of 1949,
and 95 votes were cast against the adoption of said Act, and
a majority being cast against the adoption of the said re-
ferred law it has therefore failed of ratification.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto sub-
