ficulties in the registration of voters, new voters now being
permitted to register at the Court House in Annapolis and
frequently giving erroneous information as to the District
in which they live; and

WHEREAS, the confusion and uncertainty caused by the
absence of any definite description of the metes and bounds
of the eight Districts of Anne Arundel County represent an
acute emergency in the public affairs of Anne Arundel
County; now therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to the
Code of Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition), being Article
2. of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, said new
section to be known as Section 274A, to follow immediately
after Section 274 of said Code and to be under the new sub-
title "Districts", and to read as follows:

DISTRICTS
Description of District No. 1., A. A. Co. Md.

274A. (a) Beginning for the same at a point midway of a
line drawn from the easternmost tip of Thomas Point to the
easternmost tip of Saunders Point, said point being where the
center of the mouth of South River entefs the Chesapeake
Bay; and running from thence and at right angles to the
boundary line between Anne Arundel and Queen Anne
Counties, in an easterly direction, in the waters of the Bay,
2.65 miles to said County line; thence with the same in a
southwesterly direction, 2.9 miles; thence leaving the County
line and running in a northwesterly direction, 4 miles to a
point in a line drawn "between Dutchman's Point and Curtis
Point, 0.6 miles from Dutchman's Point' thence leaving the
Chesapeake Bay and running in a southwesterly direction,
with the approximate middle of West River, 3.2 miles to
where the middle of the mouth of Smith Creek enters West
River; thence with the middle of Smith Creek, in a north-
westerly direction, 1.1 miles to where the same intersects the
center line of Muddy Creek Road (Maryland Route 255);
thence with the center line of Route 255 in a southwesterly
and southeasterly direction, 0.4 miles to where the center line
of said road intersects the center line of a private road lead-
ing through the property of Louise Woodfield and the Gray
Heirs; thence with said road in a southwesterly direction,
1.25 miles to the center of the County Road leading from Dud-
ley to Owensville (West River) at a point 0.55 miles north-
west of Dudley; thence with said road in a northwesterly
