CHAPTER 97
(House Bill 127)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 25 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "County Commis-
sioners", sub-title "General Provisions", said new section
to be known as Section 16A, and to follow immediately
after Section 16 of said Article and sub-title, setting the
salaries of County Commissioners in every County in this
State with a population of from 30,001 to 40,000, inclusive,
according to the census of 1940, AND REPEALING ALL
LAWS OR PARTS OF LAWS INCONSISTENT WITH
THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"County Commissioners", sub-title "General Provisions", said
new section to be known as Section 16A, and to follow im-
mediately after Section 16 of said Article and sub-title, and
to read as follows:
16A. In every county of this State which according to the
Federal census of 1940 had a population of from 30,001 to
40,000, inclusive, the County Commissioners shall receive
compensation at the rate of One Thousand Dollars per annum,
unless provision shall have been made by law for a greater
sum.
SEC. 1A. And be it further enacted, THAT ALL LAWS
OR PARTS OF LAWS INCONSISTENT WITH THE PRO
VISIONS OF THIS ACT BE AND THE SAME ARE
HEREBY REPEALED TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH IN
CONSISTENCY.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1950.
