SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section (c) of Section 197 of Article 66 1/2 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title
"Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Operation of Motor Vehicles
Upon Highways", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, and that two new sub-sections be and they
are hereby added to said Section 197, said new sub-sections to
be known as Sub-sections (d) and (e), to follow immediately
after Sub-section (c), and all to read as follows:
197.
(c) Any person removing a wrecked or damaged vehicle
from a highway shall remove any glass or other injurious
substance, dropped upon the highways from such vehicle or
vehicles.
([Violation of this section shall be deemed to be a mis-
demeanor and any person upon conviction shall be punishable
by a fine of One ($1.00) Dollar to One Hundred ($100.00)
Dollars.]
(d) All trucks operating on highways shall be loaded in
such a manner that reasonable care shall be taken to prevent
the load or any part thereof from falling or spilling upon the
highway IN SUCH MANNER AS TO CREATE A TRAFFIC
HAZARD. The owner or the person operating the offending
vehicle shall be responsible for any violation of this sub-
section.
(e) Violation of this section shall be deemed to be a mis-
demeanor and any person upon conviction shall be punishable
by a fine of One ($1.00) Dollar to One Hundred ($100.00)
Dollars.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1950.
