CHAPTER 19
(Senate Bill 33)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
17 of Article 15A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1939 Edition), title "Budget and Procurement," sub-
title "Budget Bureau," relating to the form of the report
to be submitted to the Governor by the Director of the
Budget Bureau in connection with the preparation of
the budget bill.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General As sembly of Maryland,
That Section 17 of Article 15A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Budget and Procurement/'
sub-title "Budget Bureau," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
17. It shall be the duty of the Director to prepare a
tentative budget and report for the assistance of the Gov-
ernor in the preparation of his budget bills for submission
to the Legislature. Such report shall [give comparative
appropriations and expenditures for each of the two fiscal
years next preceding, the amount requested for each of
the two succeeding fiscal years, and the amount recom-
mended by the Director. The report shall also contain a
financial statement showing the total revenue from all
sources (State, Federal and otherwise) and expenses for
each of the two fiscal years next preceding, giving effect
to all amended schedules approved in said years, the cur-
rent assets, liabilities, reserves and surplus or deficit of
of the State, an itemized list of the debts and funds of the
State, and an estimate of the financial condition of the
State as of the beginning and end of each of the fiscal
years next succeeding, including an itemized statement of
the estimated revenues.] be classified and in such detail
as prescribed by Article ///, Section 52 of the Constitution.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1950.
