gation by the Department of Labor and Industry is deemed
by the Commissioner to be an occupation dangerous to the
life or limb or injurious to the health, morals, safety or wel-
fare of the minor.

7. No minor under 16 years of age shall be employed, per-
mitted or suffered to work in any manufacturing, mechanical
or processing occupations at any time (except in purely office
work or occupations not requiring the performance of any
duties in workrooms or workplaces where goods are manu-
factured or otherwise processed) or in any commercial can-
nery at any time (except in purely office work or, in such
canneries, work not involving, and in separate' rooms from,
the actual processing of food products). Nothing in the pre-
ceding sentence shall be construed as applying to community
non-commercial packing or canning establishments.

8. No minor under 16 years of age may be employed, per-
mitted or suffered to work at any time in the operation or
tending of power driven machinery other than office machin-
ery. Nothing in this preceding sentence shall be construed
as preventing regular instruction on machines as provided
in vocational schools by the Department of Education or as
provided in State institutional schools for mentally or physi-
cally handicapped children or juvenile delinquents by the
duly appointed executive boards or institution superintend-
ents.

9. No male minor under 16 years of age and no female
minor under 18 years of age shall be employed, permitted or
suffered to work as a messenger for any messenger company
or commercial messenger service in the distribution, trans-
mission or delivery of goods at any time, EXCEPT FEMALE
EMPLOYEES 16 AND 17 YEARS OF AGE MAY BE EM-
PLOYED FOR NOT MORE THAN 8 HOURS DAILY, NOR
MORE THAN 40 HOURS PER WEEK, NOR BEFORE
THE HOURS OF 7 A. M. NOR AFTER THE HOURS OF
7 P. M., IN THE DELIVERY OF TELEGRAMS.

10. No male minor under 16 years of age and no female
minor under 18 years of age shall be employed, permitted, or
suffered to work on any scaffolding or construction work or
erection of bmldings or any of the building trades, in any
brick or lumber yard, at airports, or upon any railroad,
whether steam or electric or hydraulic, or upon any vessel or
boat engaged in navigation or commerce or IN ANY
FACTORY where tobacco or tobacco products are prepared,
manufactured, assorted or packed, or in any hotel, restaurant,
