WHEREAS, such continued aggression will result in another dis-
astrous world war in which the liberties and freedom of all peoples
will not only be endangered but may be absolutely destroyed; and

WHEREAS, it is of the highest importance that the American
people devote all of their energies and efforts toward the complete
mobilization of the industries, agriculture, and finances as well as
of the manpower of the country, if the Congress so enact, in order
to be prepared to resist and overcome all aggression; now, there-
fore, be it

Resolved by the House of Delegates of Maryland, That the Con-
gress of the United States be informed that the people and govern-
ment of the State of Maryland hereby pledge their full and complete
support for any legislation which the Congress may enact for the
complete mobilization of the manpower, industries and finances of
the country in order to protect and defend the freedom and liberties
of all people by resisting aggression wherever and whenever it may
occur; and be it further

Resolved, That the Secretary of State of Maryland be and she is
hereby requested to send, under the Great Seal of the State of
Maryland, copies of this resolution to the President of the United
States, the President of the United States Senate, the Speaker of
the House of Representatives of the United States Congress, the
Secretary of State, the Secretary of Defense and to each Repre-
sentative of the State in the Congress of the United States from
the State of Maryland.

HOUSE RESOLUTION
By Mr. Alexander.

Resolution expressing sympathy over the untimely death of
Trooper First Class Lauren M. Ridge.

WHEREAS, Trooper First Class Lauren M. Ridge of the Maryland
State Police Force recently met his death while in the performance
of duty in the City of Hagerstown; and

WHEREAS, Trooper Ridge, in the performance of his duty and in
the manner with which he discharged his trust, typified the highest
traditions of the State Police in Maryland; and

WHEREAS, his passing has shocked the entire State and has caused
the loss of a valuable member of the State Police Force; now,
therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Delegates of Maryland, That the deepest
regrets of the House are expressed over the untimely death of
