voting machine installed in each precinct on the days of any regis-
trations prior to the primary and general elections with a judge
of election in attendance in order that full instructions in the use
of such machines may be given on these registration days; and be
it further

Resolved, That this resolution be spread upon the Journal of the
House and that the Chief Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to
send a copy of this resolution to the Supervisors of Elections of
Baltimore City and to the Supervisors of Elections in each county
in this State which makes use of voting machines.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Elections.

HOUSE RESOLUTION

By Mr. Bertorelli :

House Resolution expressing the sympathies of the House of Dele-
gates over the untimely death of the Honorable James J. Lacy.

WHEREAS, the members of the House of Delegates of Maryland
were shocked to hear of the untimely death of the Honorable James
J. Lacy on July 1, 1950; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Lacy held, as Comptroller of the Treasury, a
position of trust and honor in the government of the State of
Maryland; and

WHEREAS, he was a man of great personal charm and had a host
of friends throughout Baltimore City and the State of Maryland,
being a leader in the business, civic and religious life of his City
and State; and

WHEREAS, in his passing the City of Baltimore and the State of
Maryland have lost a foremost public servant and a man of broad
humanitarian sympathies; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Delegates of Maryland, That the deepest
regrets of this body be expressed at the passing of the late James
J. Lacy; and be it further

Resolved, That a copy of this resolution be spread upon the
Journal of the House and that the Chief Clerk of the House be and
he is hereby instructed to send a copy thereof to the family of the
late James J. Lacy.
