House Bill No. 9—By the Prince George's County Delegation:

A Bill entitled "An Act to add two new sections to the Prince
George's County Code (1943 Edition) being Article 17 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title Trince George's County',
sub-title 'Laurel', said new sections to be known as Section 852-A
and Section 852B, and to follow immediately after Section 852 of
said Article, to extend the boundaries of the Town of Laurel, Prince
George's County; to provide for certain improvements or municipal
functions within said area; to provide for payments therefor by
special assessment or ad valorem tax levied against properties in
said area; to apportion taxes collected therein; and to authorize
the Mayor and City Council of Laurel to borrow money upon the
faith and credit of the Town of Laurel for the purposes set forth
herein."

Which was read the first time and re-ferred to the Prince George's
County Delegation.

INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTIONS

HOUSE RESOLUTION
By Messrs. Silk, Kosakowski, Mrozinski and Milanicz.

A House Resolution requesting the Supervisors of Elections in
Baltimore City and those counties using voting machines to
give instructions in the use of such machines on registration
days.

WHEREAS, on the several days provided for the registration of
voters prior to the primary and general elections of 1950, there will
be many persons registered as voters for the first time; and

WHEREAS, in Baltimore City and in those counties in which
voting machines are used, such persons may experience difficulty
in voting because of being unfamiliar with the use of voting
machines; and

WHEREAS, it would be of much practical benefit for the efficient
and orderly conduct of both the primary and general elections if
persons who are inexperienced in the use of voting machines could
be given instruction; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Delegates of Maryland., That the Boards
of Supervisors of Elections in Baltimore City and in those counties
of the State which use voting machines be and they are hereby
requested to make adequate provision for giving instruction in the
use of voting machines to inexperienced voters in their respective
jurisdictions; and be it further

Resolved, That these several Boards of Election Supervisors be
particularly requested to have a voting machine or a model of a
