Extraordinary Session of 1950
MARYLAND, Sct.:
At an Extraordinary Session of the General Assembly of
Maryland, begun and held in the City of Annapolis,
on the Twenty-seventh day of July, 1950, and ending
on the Twenty-seventh day of July, 1950, the Hon-
orable Wm. Preston Lane, Jr., being Governor of
the State, the following laws were enacted, to wit:
CHAPTER 1
(Senate Bill 1)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 33 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1947 Supp.), title "Elections",
sub-title "Nominations and Primaries", said new section to
be known as Section 51A and to follow immediately after
Section 51 of said Article and sub-title, relating to the date
of the Primary Election in the year 1950 and the time for
conducting the registration of voters.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supp.), title
"Elections", sub-title "Nominations and Primaries", said new
section to be known as Section 51A and to follow immedi-
ately after Section 51 of said Article and sub-title, and to
read as follows:
51 A. (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this
Article, the primary election in the year 1950 shall be held
on September 18.
(b) In each precinct in Baltimore City, there shall be a
supplemental registration on August 14, 1950, to be con-
ducted as provided by Section 25A, as enacted by Chapter
749 of the Acts of 1949.
(c) In Baltimore City, qualified persons may register,
transfer, affiliate, or change their party affiliation as pro-
vided in Section 25 from October 2, 1950 to October 4, 1950,
both inclusive, from nine o'clock A.M. to nine o'clock P.M.
