SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That The Mayor and
Council of Salisbury shall annually levy upon all the assess-
able property liable to taxation in the City of Salisbury at
the regular tax levying period an amount sufficient to meet
and pay the interest on said bonds so issued and outstand-
ing, and to meet and pay the principal of said bonds as they
shall severally become due from time to time, which tax
shall be levied and collected, and shall have the same priority
rights, bear the same Interest and penalties and in every
respect be treated the same as other City taxes now are. Said
amount so levied and collected shall be kept in a separate
fund for the payment of said interest and principal and for
no other purpose whatsoever.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted. That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all of the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 30
(Senate Bill 33)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
157 of Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Cecil County", sub-title "County
Treasurer", relating to the manner of filling the office of
Assistant Treasurer should a vacancy occur.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 157 of Article 8 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Cecil County", sub-
title "County Treasurer", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

157. Should the person named and appointed Treasurer of
Cecil County by Section 154 of this Article fail to qualify, or
should said office for any other reason become vacant, the
Governor of this State shall appoint a Treasurer for the re-
mainder of the current term. Should the person named and
appointed Assistant Treasurer of Cecil County by Section 154
of this Article fail to qualify, or should said office for any
other reason become vacant, the Treasurer of Cecil County
shall appoint an Assistant Treasurer for the remainder of the
current term.
