proceeds from such raffle for personal use or benefit at such
raffle, it shall be lawful to award prizes by such devices as
are commonly designated as paddle wheels, wheels of fortune
or chance books.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall
remain effective until December 1, 1948, but no longer unless
it shall receive a majority of the votes cast thereon at the
General Election to be held in November, 1948. The ballot
labels for the voting machines in Anne Arundel County shall
be prepared that there shall appear thereon a condensed
statement of the title of this Act in the following words:
"Do You Favor Raffles for Volunteer Fire Companies and
Other Organizations?", with provisions for the voter to ex-
press himself "Yes" or "No". If a majority of the persons
voting on said question shall vote "Yes", then this act shall
continue and remain in force, but if a majority of the votes
cast hereon shall be "No", then this Act shall be null and
void and of no effect whatsoever on and after December 1,
1948.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1948.

(Senate Bill 25)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 276, 287, and 290 of Article 6
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Caroline County", sub-title "Greensboro",
and to enact in lieu thereof Sections 276, 287, and 290,
revising in part the charter of the Town of Greensboro in
Caroline County, Maryland.
SECTION 1... Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 276, 287, and 290, inclusive, of Article 6
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Caroline County", sub-title "Greensboro", be and they
are hereby repealed, and Sections 276, 287, and 290, inclusive,
be and they are hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to read as
follows:
276. The inhabitants and residents of the town of Greens-
boro, citizens of the State of Maryland and of the United
States of America above the age of twenty-one years, who
have resided in said town for at least one year preceding
the town election, and who are otherwise entitled to vote and
have the necessary qualifications to vote in a state election
