to be known as Sections 146A and 146B and to follow
immediately after Section 146 of said Article, authorizing
the County Commissioners of Baltimore County to estab-
lish a Fire Prevention Bureau for Baltimore County,
to adopt a Fire Prevention Code of rules and regulations
for protection against fire and the prevention, abatement
and removal of fire hazards, providing procedure for adop-
tion and amendment of such rules and regulations, the
printing of same and their use as evidence, providing in-
junctive relief for violations or threatened violations and
criminal penalties for the violation of certain provisions
and of any rules or regulations promulgated by the said
Commissioners; and to repeal Sections 248 and 249 of
Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Baltimore County", sub-title "Fire
Department", relating generally to inspections.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That two new sections be and they are hereby added to
Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Baltimore County", sub-title "County Com-
missioners", to be under sub-heading "Fire Prevention", said
new sections to be known as Sections 146A and 146B, to fol-
low immediately after Section 146 of said Article and to read
as follows:

FIRE PREVENTION

146A. The County Commissioners are further author-
ized and empowered to establish a Fire Prevention Bureau
for Baltimore County and to assign to such Bureau as
a Chief and as inspectors such members of the Fire De-
partment of Baltimore County from time to time, for full
time or part time duty, without extra compensation therefor,
as the County Commissioners may see fit. The County Com-
missioners are further authorized and empowered to appoint
additional inspectors from the volunteer fire companies of
Baltimore County, to serve without compensation and at the
pleasure of the County Commissioners. The Chief of the Fire
Prevention Bureau and the inspectors so assigned and ap-
pointed when acting in the performance of their duties under
the orders of the Chief of the Fire Prevention Bureau of Balti-
more County shall be authorized at any and all reasonable
times, to enter upon and into any and all public buildings,
stores, warehouses, factories or any other structures or
premises, except private single family dwellings within the
limits of Baltimore County for the purpose of examining and
inspecting the same for the purposes of carrying out the pro-
visions of this Act or any regulations that may be adopted by
the County Commissioners hereunder.
