($4,095.00) per annum, an assistant chief clerk at a salary of
Four Thousand and Ninety-five Dollars ($4,095.00) per
annum, two registrars at a salary of Thirty-four Hundred
and Sixty-five Dollars ($3,465.00) each per annum, two clerks
at a salary of Thirty-one Hundred and Ninety Dollars
($3,190.00) each per annum, one clerk at a salary of Twenty-
six Hundred and Forty Dollars ($2,640.00) per. annum, two
clerks at a salary of Twenty-five Hundred and Thirty Dollars
($2,530.00) each per annum, thirteen clerks at a salary of
Twenty-four Hundred and Twenty Dollars ($2,420.00) each
per annum, four clerks at a salary of Twenty-two Hundred
Dollars ($2,200.00) each per annum, a custodian of voting
machines at a salary of Twenty-six Hundred and Forty Dol-
lars ($2,640.00) per annum, three deputy custodians of voting
machines at a salary of Twenty-four Hundred and Twenty
Dollars ($2,420.00) each per annum, three typists at a salary
of Sixteen Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($1,650.00) each per
annum and a stenographer at a salary of Twenty Hundred
and Ninety Dollars ($2,090.00) per annum. Nothing in this
section shall be so construed as to prevent the said Board of
Supervisors of Elections from requiring any of the above
mentioned employees to perform such duties as the said Board
may, in its discretion, deem advisable. The said clerks, and
in the City of Baltimore, the chief clerk and the other em-
ployees above enumerated shall be appointed by the respective
boards of supervisors and shall be removable by them in their
discretion except that in Baltimore City one of the registrars
shall be appointed by the member of board who shall have
been selected from the political party opposite to that of the
Governor; and shall be removable by such member of the
board in his discretion. In Baltimore City, the chief clerk,
with the approval of the supervisors, shall from time to time,
secure such temporary assistants as may be necessary for the
proper transaction of the business of the office, but the com-
pensation of such assistants to be paid by the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore, upon requisition by the said super-
visors shall not be less than Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00)
in any one year.

25. (a) In the said City and counties, persons qualified to
register, transfer, affiliate or change their party affiliation
may register, transfer, or affiliate at the office of the Board
of Supervisors of Elections at any time such office is open,
except in Baltimore Ci'ty thirty days preceding and ten days
following a primary or special election and forty-five days
preceding and fifteen days following a general election, and
in the counties thirty days preceding and ten days following
any election, primary, general or special; and may change
their party affiliation at said office, when open, except six
months preceding and ten days following a primary election
