burn or otherwise dispose of trash and other waste creating
a fire, hazard.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted "by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Anne Arundel County", said new section to be
under sub-title "Fire Companies", to be known as Section 280,
to follow immediately after Section 279 of said Article, and to
read as follows:
280. Any volunteer fire company of Anne Arundel County,
may burn or otherwise dispose of trash, debris, waste ma-
terials, weeds and other growth which it deems to create or
constitute a fire hazard; provided that such trash, debris,
waste materials, weeds and other growth has been abandoned
or discarded by the owner or owners thereof.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 696.
(House Bill 625)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
453 of Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Cecil County", sub-title "State's
Attorney", increasing the compensation of the State's Attor-
ney of Cecil County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 453 of Article 8 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Cecil County", sub-
title "State's Attorney", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments,, to read as follows:
453. The State's Attorney of Cecil County shall receive an
annual salary of three thousand dollars ($3, 000. 00) to be paid
to him by the County Commissioners of said county in monthly
installments, the same to be levied by the County Commis-
sioners for the use of the State's Attorney as aforesaid.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.
