836 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 639

Authority being a public body corporate, all income received
by it and any and all property received or held by it pursuant
to the authority of this Act shall be and remain exempt from
all taxation by the State of Maryland and the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That none of the bonds
hereby authorized shall constitute or be treated as a pledge or
appropriation of the faith, credit or taxing power of the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore, or a debt of said municipality
for any purpose.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That any and all laws
; or parts of laws inconsistent or conflicting with any of the
provisions of this Act are hereby repealed to the extent of such
inconsistency or conflict, and the provisions of this Act being
hereby declared to be severable, if any of said provisions shall
be held to be unconstitutional by any court of competent juris-
diction, the decision of such court shall not affect or impair any
of the remaining provisions of this Act, or any parts thereof.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 639.
(House Bill 711)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
4061/2 of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County", sub-
title "Police Department", as said section was amended by
Chapter 212 of the Acts of 1943, increasing the compensation
of the Chief of Police of Anne Arundel County and author-
izing the County Commissioners to increase the number of
officers.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 406y2 of Article 2 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel
County", sub-title "Police Department", as said section was
amended by Chapter 212 of the Acts of 1943, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
