Treasurer. Any violations of the requirements of this Act or
failure to comply therewith shall constitute a misdemeanor
and be punished upon conviction by forfeiture of office, and
fine or imprisonment or by all three, in the discretion of the
Court.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 622A of
Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Allegany County", sub-title "Sheriff", as en-
acted by Chapter 665 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
1941 be and the same is hereby repealed.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date
of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 99 and 100 of Article 1A of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Cumberland", sub-title "Holidays'-, said sections providing
for a legal half-holiday on Saturday.
WHEREAS, Section 11 of Article 13 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition) makes Saturday a legal half-holiday
throughout the State, with the exception of two or three
counties, thereby making the provisions of these sections un-
necessary; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 99 and 100 of Article 1A of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Cumber-
land", sub-title "Holidays", be and they are hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.
