Attorney, and before entering upon his duties he shall execute
a bond to the State of Maryland for the faithful performance
of his duties, in the penalty of Two Thousand Five Hundred
Dollars ($2, 500. 00), said bond to be approved by a Judge of
the Circuit Court for said County, the premium on said bond
to be paid by the County Commissioners of said County.

(e) The said State's Attorney is hereby authorized and
empowered to appoint a stenographer, who shall perform such
stenographic and clerical duties as he or she may be directed
by said State's Attorney to perform, and who shall receive a
salary, in the discretion of the County Commissioners of said
County, not exceeding One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
($1, 500. 00) per annum, payable monthly, to be levied for and
paid by the County Commissioners of said County.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

(House Bill 657)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
18B of Chapter 21 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland of 1931, as amended by Chapter 324 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland of 1935, codified in Ar-
ticle 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Brent-
wood", Section 131 relating to the borrowing of money by
by the Mayor and Town Council of Brentwood for street
and drainage improvement, and for repair and reconstruc-
tion of streets, sidewalks, curbs and gutters previously con-
structed under Sections ISA and 18B of this Act.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 18B of Chapter 21 of the Acts of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland of 1931, as amended by Chapter 324
of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1935,
codified in Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince George's County", sub-
title "Brentwood", Section 131, be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

18B. Codified in Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
