said bond to be paid by the County Commissioners of Wico-
mico County.

And, provided, further that nothing herein contained shall
be taken as in any manner whatsoever restricting or changing
the salary and compensation of the State's Attorney for his
attendance before the People's Court of Wicomico County now
allowed by law as provided for in Chapter 470, of the Acts of
the General Assembly, Session of 1937.

The Sheriff of Wicomico County, Chief Deputy, and all other
deputies are hereby authorized, directed and required to serve
all process, both civil and criminal issuing out of the People's
Court for said Wicomico County as now required by law, as
provided for in Chapter 270, Section 389C of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, Session of 1937, and Wico-
mico County shall be exempt from the provisions of Section 101
hereof relating to Salaried Constables.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 546,
(House Bill 627)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 11
of Article 36 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edi-
tion), title "Fees of Officers", sub-title "Bailiffs", relating
to the allowance to bailiffs of the Circuit Court of Caroline
County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 11 of Article 36 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Fees of Officers", sub-title
"Bailiffs", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

11. Every bailiff attending the circuit courts in the counties
in this State shall be entitled to the sum of two dollars and
fifty cents for each day he shall attend the said courts, except
in Caroline County, where he shall be entitled to four dollars
for each day he shall attend the said courts; and upon the cer-
tificate of the clerks of said courts stating the number of days
that the said bailiffs have attended the said courts the county
commissioners of the several counties shall levy for the use of
