CHAPTER 540.
(House Bill 509)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
503 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Health", sub-title "Milk", as said section
was enacted by Chapter 403 of the Acts of 1941, relating
to the authority of Counties to enact milk ordinances.

CHAPTER 541.
(House Bill 513)

AN ACT to add one new section to Chapter 200 of the Acts
of 1931, incorporating the town of Cheverly, said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 13B, to follow immediately after
Section 13A, said section having been enacted by Chapter
448 of the Acts of 1933, authorizing the Mayor and Town
Council of Cheverly to borrow money on the credit of the
town for the construction of roadways, alleys, curbs, side-
walks, gutters and storm water sewers, and to assess the
cost of roadways, alleys, curbs, sidewalks and gutters and
storm water sewers against the abutting property owner,
and making such assessment a lien upon the property.

SECTION 1. Be It enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Chapter
200 of the Acts of 1931, said new section to be known as Sec-
13B, to follow immediately after Section 13A, said section
having been enacted by Chapter 448 of the Acts of 1933, and to
read as follows:

13B. (a) To effectuate the construction of roadways,
alleys, curbs, sidewalks, gutters and storm water sewers with-
in the Town of Cheverly, the Mayor and Town Council of
Cheverly, Maryland, are hereby authorized and empowered to
borrow from time to time, on the credit of the town, a sum
or sums of money which shall not, however, exceed in amount
at any one time the total sum of eight per centum of the as-
sessed valuation of all real property in the town appearing
on the assessment books of Prince George's County, State of
Maryland; and to issue bonds or certificates of indebtedness
therefor, which shall be payable on or before ten years from
the date of issuance, with interest not to exceed the rate of
