tutional, or in conflict with any other section, clause or pro^
vision thereof, it shall not affect or make unconstitutional or
ineffective any other section, clause or provision of this Act,
and no other section, clause or provision shall be unconstitu-
tional by reason thereof.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 538.
(House Bill 493)
AN ACT to authorize the Board of County Commissioners
of Prince George's County to pay additional amounts to
employees of the County, during the duration of the war.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of County Commissioners of Prince
George's County, Maryland, are hereby authorized, during the
duration of the war, in order to provide an increased compen-
sation for employees of the County to meet the increased costs
of living due to war-time conditions, to provide and pay addi-
tional amount to such employees, not to exceed $200. 00 per
person per year, commencing as of July 1, 1942.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of
the General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date
of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, Avith amendments, Section 195
of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Health", sub-title "Adulteration of Food
and Drink", eliminating the provisions requiring water ice,
ice sherbet, etc., to be sold in packages or containers.
