CHAPTER 531.
(House Bill 445)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 7
of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Insurance", sub-title "Insurance Depart-
ment", relating to the compensation of the Actuary for
the Insurance Department.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 7 of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Insurance", sub-title "In-
surance Department", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
7. (Actuary. ) The Commissioner shall also appoint an
Actuary for the Department, who shall receive an annual
compensation as fixed and provided by the budget, and the
fees provided by Section 40, to be paid by the companies
whose policies he shall value as required by law, provided,
however, that the total amount of such fees shall not exceed
Five Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($5, 500. 00) in any one
year.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 532.
(House Bill 453)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Marrying Unlaw-
fully", said new section to be known as Section 444A and
to follow immediately after Section 444 of said Article, pro-
hibiting the construction, erection or maintenance of bill-
boards or other structures, signs, posters or display adver-
tising of any kind whatsoever, or of information booths or
of any other structures, any one or more of which is in-
tended to aid in the solicitation or performance of mar-
riages.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
