CHAPTER 529.
(House Bill 440)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
370 of Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Allegany County", sub-title
"Justices of the Peace and Constables", providing for ap-
peals from any decision of the Justice of the Peace for
Juvenile Cases for Allegany County and increasing the
salary of the Clerk to such Justice of the Peace and relating
to the time at which such Justice shall sit.

CHAPTER 530.
(House Bill 444)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 8
of Article 48A of Flack's Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Insurance", sub-title "Insurance Depart-
ment", providing for compensation of the Auditor and
Examiner.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 8 of Article 48A of Flack's Annotated Code
of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Insurance", sub-title "In-
surance Department", be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments to read as follows:

8. AUDITOR AND EXAMINER. The Commissioner shall also
appoint an auditor and examiner for the department, whose
duties it shall be to examine and audit the annual state-
ments of all insurance companies authorized to do business in
this State, the books, accounts and affairs of the Insurance De-
partment, and do such other auditing as the Commissioner may
direct. He shall also, when so directed by the Commissioner,
assist in the examination of companies, and shall receive an
annual compensation as fixed and provided by the budget, and
when engaged in the examination of companies, the per diem
provided by Section 51, to be paid by the companies examined
by him, provided, however, that the total amount of salary and
per diem fees shall not exceed four thousand, eight hundred
dollars ($4, 800. 00) in any one year.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.
