set forth, pay all expenses of sale, all storage and repair
charges which may have been incurred by him in the safe-
keeping and custodianship of the property sold, valid liens in
the order of their priority, and other lawful charges. Not
more than thirty days after the date of sale, the balance of the
monies remaining in the hands of the Chief of Police of Balti-
more County shall be accounted for and paid over to the Treas-
urer of Baltimore County, who shall credit any funds so re-
ceived to the Policemen's Special Fund of Baltimore County.
Any owner of property sold hereunder, or any person having
a valid claim thereto by way of lien, shall be permitted to
present a claim to the Treasurer of Baltimore County for any
sum not exceeding the amount received by the Treasurer from
the Chief of Police, and the Treasurer shall pay said claim or
claims from the Policemen's Special Fund of Baltimore County
upon written authorization from the County Commissioners
of Baltimore County, who may require such information and
proof concerning any claim as they deem necessary and proper.
At the expiration of one year from the date of sale of any
property by the Chief of Police of Baltimore County all claims
of every person, firm or corporation shall be forever barred,
and the monies so received shall remain in and be used as a
'part of the Policemen's Special Fund of Baltimore County.
Nothing herein contained shall in any manner be construed to
require the Chief of Police of Baltimore County to make ex-
penditures for any expenses or claims in excess of the amount
received by him from the proceeds of any sale.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
t effect June1, 1943.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 589
of Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Baltimore County", sub-title "Roads
and Streets", relating to the time, nature, and publishing of
the annual report of the Baltimore County Roads Engineer.

SECTION 1. Be It enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 589 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Baltimore County", sub-title
