520A, 520B, 520C? 520D and 520E, to follow immediately
after Section 520 of said Article, the same authorizing and
empowering the County Commissioners of Baltimore County
to establish a general system of pensions and retirements
for its officers, agents, servants and employees, and author-
izing and empowering the County Commissioners of Balti-
more County to establish and maintain, in connection with
said general system of pensions and retirements, a system of
allowances and payments to be made to the beneficiaries and
dependents of such officers, agents, servants and employees;
to authorize and empower the County Commissioners of
Baltimore County to appoint necessary employees and pro-
vide for the payment of salaries and expenses, and to
authorize the levy of such taxes as may be necessary to pay
for the establishment and maintenance of any system here-
under.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That five new sections be, and they are hereby, added to
Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Baltimore County", said new sections to be
under a new sub-title "Pensions77, said new sections to be
known as Sections 520A, 520B, 520C, 520D, and 520E, and to
follow immediately after Section 520 of said Article, and to
read as follows:

PENSIONS

520A. The County Commissioners of Baltimore County are
hereby authorized and empowered to establish and maintain a
general system of pensions and retirements for the benefit and
advantage of its officers, agents, servants and employees, with
necessary classifications and terms of admission; to provide
that upon the establishment of any such system of pensions
and retirements, its officers, agents, servants and employees
theretofore or thereafter appointed, by whatever authority,
except those appointed directly by the Governor of Maryland,
whose salary or compensation is paid by the County Commis-
sioners of Baltimore County, shall be eligible to admission to
such pension or retirement system, subject to such exceptions,
exclusions, limitations and restrictions as may be deemed ex-
pedient in connection with the admission to or the continu-
ance in said pension and retirement system of any of said
officers, agents, servants and employees, Nothing herein con-
tained shall in any manner be construed to apply to any
officers, agents, servants or employees whose salary or com-
pensation is paid by the County Commissioners of Baltimore
County and for whom there are already existing pension pro-
visions.
