CHAPTER 414.
(Senate Bill 345),

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 89B of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "State
Roads, " said new section to be known as Section 14A,
and to follow immediately after Section 14 of said Article
authorizing and directing the State Roads Commission
to pay certain sums of money to the incorporated towns
of Wicomico County from the portion of the "One and
One-half Cent Lateral County and Municipal Road Gaso-
line Fund" allocated to Wicomico County.

(Vetoed. )

CHAPTER 415.
(Senate Bill 347)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
499 of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County",
sub-title "Treasurer", as said Section was amended by
Chapter 204 of the Acts of 1937, relating to the number
and compensation of the Clerks in the Office of the
County Treasurer.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 499 of Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne
Arundel County", sub-title "Treasurer", as said Section
was amended by Chapter 204 of the Acts of 1937, be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

499. The said treasurer shall be entitled to receive as
full compensation for his services as such treasurer and as
collector of all county, State and school taxes, as well as
all other taxes, an annual salary of Five Thousand Dollars
($5, 000. ) for and during his term of office and until his
successor shall have been duly elected and qualified, and
he shall employ such clerks or assistants of his own selec-
tion for conducting the work of his office as the said work
may require, the salary of said clerks to be paid by the
County Commissioners of said County as said County Com-
missioners may determine; provided, however, that two of
