3. (e) Duration of Benefits.

Any otherwise eligible individual shall be entitled dur-
ing any benefit year to a total amount of benefits equal to
whichever is the lesser of (1) twenty-three times his
weekly benefit amount, and (2) one-fourth of the wages
paid to him during his base period for insured work; pro-
vided that such total amount of benefits, if not a multiple
of $1. 00, shall be computed to the next higher multiple of
$1. 00. The amount of benefits otherwise payable to any
individual during any benefit year may, in the discretion
of the Board, be decreased by an amount not greater than
his weekly benefit amount times the number of weeks for
which under subsection (a), (b), or (e) of Section 5 he
is disqualified for benefits in such benefit year.

3. (d) (2) The term "trainee" as used in this sub-sec-
tion means an individual who entered military service
after April 1, 1940, who continued such service for not
less than ninety consecutive days and whose military serv-
ice was terminated on or before March 31, 1945.

3. (d) (4) For the purpose of Sections 3 (b) (1), 3 (e)
and 4 (e) of this Act, the base period of a trainee for his
first benefit year shall, Section 19 (a) of this Act to the
contrary notwithstanding, extend from the first day of the
base period for the benefit year in which he was inducted
into military service through the last day of the base period
fixed under the other provisions of this Act for such bene-
fit year and for the second benefit year shall extend through
the last day of the base period fixed under the other provi-
sions of this Act for such second benefit year; provided,
however, that the aggregate total amount of benefits paid
to a trainee with respect to weeks of unemployment occur-
ring within his first and second benefit year shall not ex-
ceed one-fourth of his wages for insured work during the
base period fixed under this sub-section for such second
benefit year.

BENEFIT ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

4. (e) He has during his base period, been paid wages
for insured work equal to not less than the amount appear-
ing in Column C of the table in Section 3 (b) (1), on the
line on which, in Column B of that table, appears his
weekly benefit amount.

DISQUALIFICATION FOR BENEFITS

5. (e, ) if it shall be found by the Board that total or
partial unemployment is due to pregnancy, provided, in
