for, or until said County Commissioners are notified by the
Judges of said circuit, or any of them, to the contrary,

111. The County Commissioners of Washington County
shall levy and pay to the said Court Stenographer so appointed
for the Circuit Court of Washington County the said sum of
$2, 250 in monthly installments on or before the 10th day of
each month as long as said Court Stenographer is performing
the official duties herein provided for, or until said County
Commissioners are notified by the Judges of said Circuit, or
any of them, to the contrary.

SEC. 2. And be it further* enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 401.
(Senate Bill 373)

AN ACT to authorize and direct the State Roads Commis-
sion to take over and maintain as a part of the State
Highway System the bridge across Wye River, connect-
ing Wye Island and Carmichael Road, in Queen Anne's
County.

WHEREAS, the bridge across Wye River, connecting Wye
Island with the mainland offers the only means of access
to the island by way of a road; and

WHEREAS, it seems desirable that this bridge should be
under the supervision and maintenance of the State Roads
Commission as a part of the State Highway System; now
therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the State Roads Commission be and it is
hereby authorized and directed to take over and maintain
as a part of the State Highways System the bridge across
Wye River, connecting Wye Island and Carmichael Road,
in Queen Anne's County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.
