tions 67 and 68 of Article 12 of said Code, title "Garret!
County", sub-title "Circuit Court", sub-heading "Court
Stenographer", and Sections 110 and 111 of Article 22 of the
said Code, title "Washington County", ' sub-title "Circuit
Court", sub-heading "Court Stenographer", as said Sections
110 and 111 were amended by Chapter 113 of the Acts of
1939, increasing the compensation of the Court Stenograph-
ers of the Fourth Judicial Circuit.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 73 and 74 of Article 1 of the Code of Pub-
lic Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Allegany
County", sub-title "Circuit Court", sub-heading "Court Stenog-
rapher", Sections 67 and 68 of Article 12 of said Code, title
"Garrett County", sub-title "Circuit Court", sub-heading
"Court Stenographer", and Sections 110 and 111 of Article 22
of the said Code, title "Washington County", sub-title "Circuit
Court", sub-heading "Court Stenographer", as said Sections
110 and 111 were amended by Chapter 113 of the Acts of 1939,
be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

73. (67) (110) The Judges of the Fourth Judicial Cir-
cuit of Maryland, are hereby authorized and directed to ap-
point two official Court Stenographers, one for the Circuit
Court for Washington County, and one for the Circuit Court
for Allegany and Garrett Counties, who shall be sworn officers
of the courts of said circuit. And the said Court Stenographer
so appointed for the Circuit Court for Washington County
shall receive a salary of |2, 250 per annum. And the said Court
Stenographer so appointed for the Circuit Courts for Allegany
and Garrett Counties shall receive a salary of $2, 700. 00'per
annum from the effective date of this Act.

74. (68) The County Commissioners of Allegany County
shall levy and pay to the said Court Stenographer so appointed
for the Circuit Courts for Allegany and Garrett Counties the
sum of $2, 250 in monthly instalments on or before the 10th day
of each month as long as said Court Stenographer is perform-
ing the official duties herein provided for, or until said County
Commissioners are notified by the Judges of said circuit, or
any of them, to the contrary. The County Commissioners of
Garrett County shall levy and pay to the said Court Stenog-
rapher so appointed for the Circuit Courts for Allegany and
Garrett Counties the sum of $450 in monthly installments on
or before the 10th day of each month as long as said Court
Stenographer is performing the official duties herein provided
