The members of said Board shall not receive any com-
pensation for their service but shall be paid their reason-
able necessary expenses while engaged in the discharge of
their official duties.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 94, 95 and 96 of Article 65 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), as en-
acted by Chapter 676 of the Acts of 1941, title "Militia",
sub-title "Re-employment of Persons in Military Ser-
vice, " and to enact in lieu thereof two new Sections, to be
known as Sections 94 and 95 of said Article, and to follow
immediately after Section 93 thereof, to define the rights
and status in any Merit System and any pension fund or
system of any person entering the armed forces of the
United States during his absence in such armed forces,
and upon his return to civil life and employment, under
certain conditions and with certain restrictions.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 94, 95 and 96 of Article 65 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), as enacted
by Chapter 676 of the Acts of 1941, title "Militia", sub-title
"Re-employment of Persons in Military Service, " be and
the same are hereby repealed, and that there be enacted
in lieu thereof two new Sections, to be known as Sections
94 and 95 of said Article, to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 93 thereof, and to read as follows:
94. Any person heretofore or hereafter inducted into
the land or naval forces of the United States for training
and service pursuant to the Act of Congress known as
the Selective Training and Service Act of 1940, or any
subsequent Acts of a similar nature, and any member of
any reserve component of the land or naval forces of the
United States, who is on active duty or service, or who may
be ordered or assigned to active duty or service, as well
as any person who, since the effective date of the aforesaid
Act of Congress, has heretofore enlisted in or who may
