and who shall receive such salary as may be fixed by said
Commissioners not to exceed thirty-six hundred dollars
($3, 600) per year, payable monthly, and an allowance for
traveling expenses not to exceed five hundred dollars
($500). He shall be a graduate civil engineer, with a
degree from an institution of recognized standing; and the
County Commissioners shall make such appointment with-
out reference to the political opinions of the persons so
appointed.
412. The County Road Engineer may be removed by
the County Commissioners at any time and shall at all
times be subject to the authority, direction and control of
the County Commissioners.
SEC. 1. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.

CHAPTER 250.
(Senate Bill 240)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
471 of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne Arundel County, "
sub-title "State's Attorney, " relating to the payment of
the expenses of the State's Attorney's office.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 471 of Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition1), title "Anne
Arundel County, " sub-title "State's Attorney, " foe and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
471. The County Commissioners are hereby authorized
and directed to allow the State's Attorney the expenses
incurred by him in the conduct of his office, and in follow-
ing and trying criminal cases, and for the equipment of his
office, and said Commissioners shall levy annually a sum
sufficient to meet said expenses and to pay same monthly;
provided, however, that said expenses shall not exceed the
sum of Twenty-five Hundred Dollars ($2500. 00).
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1943.
