To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, THOMAS ELMO JONES, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
317 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That, at the General Election
held in this State on Tuesday, November 3rd, 1942, An Act,
known as Chapter 172 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
1941, was submitted to the voters of Garrett County for their
adoption or rejection, under the provisions of Article 16 of the
Constitution of the State, said Act being:

An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
80 and 81 of Article 12 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Garrett County",
sub-title "County Commissioners", relating to the nomi-
nation and election of County Commissioners.

AND i DO CERTIFY, That at said election 1, 324 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of said Chapter 172 of the Acts of 1941,
and 1, 013 votes were cast against the adoption of said Act, in
the State of Maryland; and a majority being in favor of the
adoption thereof, it was thereby ratified by the voters of said
State.
