CHAPTER 1008.
(House Bill 489)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 17, 18
and 33 of Chapter 448 of the Acts of 1927, as amended;
Chapter 417 of the Acts of 1937, and Chapter 58 of the Acts
of the 1936 Extraordinary Session and to re-enact the same
with amendments as a single bi-county Act applicable to the
Maryland-Washington Metropolitan District in Montgomery
and Prince George's Counties, and hot as a public local law
or laws of either county; to repeal and strike out Sections
641 to 661, inclusive, Sections 664 to 667, inclusive, Sections
669 to 671, inclusive, and Sections 673 to 675, inclusive, of
Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Montgomery
County (1939 Edition), and Sections 720 to 722, inclusive,
Sections 725 to 729, inclusive, Sections 731, 732, 736, 737 and
Sections 748 to 750, inclusive, of Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), and to repeal
Sections 1A and 29 to 32, inclusive, of said Chapter 448 of
the Acts of 1927, as amended.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That, in order to embrace within a single bi-county Act,
which may hereafter be referred to or cited as "The Maryland-
Washington Metropolitan District Act", all those provisions
of law applicable to the Maryland-Washington Metropolitan
District lying in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties,
and in order to clarify the intent of the General Assembly of
Maryland that said provisions of law are to be treated and
construed as applicable to the entire Maryland-Washington
Metropolitan District as the same comprises portions of both
counties, and not as public local laws of either county, appli-
cable only to such portion of said District lying within the
boundaries of either such county, and in order that said
amendments may be made to said provisions of law and the
boundaries of said District extended, Sections 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8,
9, 10, 12, 13, 17, 18 and 33 of Chapter 448 of the Acts of 1927,
as amended, Chapter 417 of the Acts of 1937, and Chapter 58
of the Acts of the 1936 Extraordinary Session, are hereby re-
spectively repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and
Sections 641 to 661, inclusive, Sections 664 to 667, inclusive,
Sections 669 to 671, inclusive, and Sections 673 to 675, in-
clusive, of Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Montgomery County (1939 Edition), and Sections 720 to 722,
inclusive, and Sections 725 to 729, inclusive, and Sections 731,
732, 736, 737, and Sections 748 to 750, inclusive, of Article 17
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
