defendant, and shall make any other investigation or report
required of him by said Magistrate.

The Magistrate shall notify the probation officer in writing
of his designation to act in a particular case, and of the period
and terms of probation.

He may also determine the conditions of probation and may
at any time revise, modify or enlarge said conditions or period
of probation as to any probationer.

The Magistrate may at any time discharge a probationer
from further supervision and he may require that the proba-
tioner shall appear before him in person at the end of his
probation.

Whenever within the period of probation any probationer
shall violate his probation, the Magistrate may impose any
sentence he might have originally imposed.

312. And be it further enacted, That should any section or
part of a section of this Article be held to be invalid for any
reason, such holding shall not be construed as affecting the
validity of any remaining section or part of a section of this
Article, it being the legislative intent that the remainder of
this Article shall stand, notwithstanding the invalidity of
such section or part of a section.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts of
laws in the State of Maryland, General or Local, enacted prior
to the General Session of the General Assembly of Maryland,
1943, inconsistent with the provisions of this Article, be and
the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such incon-
sistency.

SEC. 4. And be it -further enacted, That all Acts or parts of
Acts, General or Local, passed by the General Assembly of
Maryland, at its General Session in the year 1943, relating to
or affecting any provisions of the Public General or Public
Local Laws of Maryland incorporated in this Act, as the same
existed before the passage of this Act, shall in no wise be af-
fected by the passage of this Act, but all such Acts shall have
the same force and effect as if this Act had not been passed.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted. That this Article shall
take effect from June 1, 1943.
