298. RELEASE AFTER COMMITMENT. In cases of commit-
ment to jail in default of payment of fine the supervisor, as-
sistant supervisor or one of the court clerks shall have the
power, upon suitable written order to the warden or other
custodian, to release the prisoner at any time after commit-
ment upon payment of the fine and costs imposed, provided
however, that a credit of one dollar (f 1. 00) for each day of
imprisonment actually served shall be deducted from the pay-
ments herein specified.

Records shall be kept by said supervisor, assistant supervisor
or court clerks of such releases and credits and the fines and
costs so received shall be remitted as in the case of fines and
costs imposed and collected as otherwise provided herein.

299. CUSTODIAN NOT TO RELEASE PRISONER EXCEPT UPON
OFFICIAL ORDER: The warden or other custodian of prisoners
sentenced from the Traffic Court shall have no power or au-
thority to release prisoners committed by Traffic Court Magis-
trates prior to the expiration of their terms as specified in the
commitment papers except upon the written order of the super-
visor, assistant supervisor or court clerks as herein provided,
or upon order of a court of competent jurisdiction.

No fines, costs or other monies shall be paid to any warden
or other custodian in cases from the Traffic Court.

300. SUPERVISOR-CLERICAL ASSISTANTS: There shall be cer-
tain clerical assistants to the Magistrates of the Traffic Court
as hereinafter provided for, who shall be appointed by the
Chief Magistrate of the Traffic Court and, after appointment,
be under his supervision and control. One of said clerical
assistants shall be designated as Supervisor. He or any clerical
employees designated for that purpose shall have the power
to fix the amount of and accept bail and he shall perform such
other duties as may be assigned to him by the Chief Magistrate.
There shall be an. Assistant Supervisor who in addition to the
duties which may be assigned to him by the Chief Magistrate,
shall act in the absence of the Supervisor and shall at such
time possess the same authority as the Supervisor.

301. COURT CLERKS: Such number of said clerical as-
sistants as the Chief Magistrate shall deem necessary shall be
designated court clerks and shall be assigned by the Chief
Magistrate to duties in the court rooms when sessions of the
Court are being held, and to such other duties as the Chief
Magistrate shall prescribe.

302. SENIOR CLERKS: Such number of said clerical as-
sistants as the Chief Magistrate shall deem necessary shall
be designated senior clerks, who shall perform such duties as
