cealing or misrepresenting the identity of said motor vehicle
or engine is guilty of a misdemeanor.

67. ALTERING OR CHANGING ENGINE OR OTHER NUMBERS.
No person shall with fraudulent intent deface, destroy, or alter
the manufacturer's serial or engine number or other distin-
guishing number or identification mark of a motor vehicle
nor shall any person place or stamp any serial, engine, or other
number or mark upon a motor vehicle, except one assigned
thereto by the Department. Any violation of the provisions
of Sections 66 and 67 is a misdemeanor, and any person upon
conviction thereof shall be subject to a fine of not less than
one hundred ($100. 00) dollars nor more than one thousand
($1000. 00) dollars, or imprisonment for not more than five
(5) years, or both, in the discretion of the court.

68. FRAUDULENT APPLICATIONS. Any person who fraud-
ulently uses a false or fictitious name in any application
for the registration of a vehicle or a certificate or title, or
knowingly makes a false statement, or knowingly conceals a
material fact, or otherwise commits a fraud in any such ap-
plication, shall upon conviction be punished by a fine of not
less than one hundred. ($100. 00) dollars nor more than one
thousand ($1000. 00) dollars or imprisonment for not more
than five (5) years or both in the discretion of the court.

69. IMPROPER USE OF EVIDENCE OF REGISTRATION. No
person shall lend to another any certificate of title, registra-
tion card, registration plate, special plate, or permit issued to
him if the person desiring to borrow the same would not be
entitled to the use thereof, nor shall any person knowingly
permit the use of any of the same by one not entitled thereto,
nor shall any person display upon a vehicle any registration
card, registration plate or permit, not issued for such vehicle
or not otherwise lawfully used thereon under this Article.

Violation of this section shall be deemed to be a misde-
meanor and upon conviction shall be punishable by a fine of
One ($1. 00) dollar to One hundred ($100. 00) dollars.

70. FALSE EVIDENCES OF TITLE AND REGISTRATION. It
shall be a felony for any person to commit any of the follow-
ing acts:

(1) To alter with fraudulent intent any certificate of title,
registration card, registration plate, or permit issued by the
Department.

(2) To forge or counterfeit with fraudulent intent any such
document or plate purporting to have been issued by the De-
partment.
