ment, and the Department may refuse and decline thereafter
to issue other registration plates to such person.

60. WRECKER TO MAINTAIN RECORDS. (a) Every wrecker
shall maintain a record in the form prescribed by the Depart-
ment of: —

(1) Every vehicle of a type subject to registration here-
under which is bought, sold, or exchanged by the wrecker or
received or accepted by the wrecker for sale or exchange;

(2) Every motor vehicle body, chassis, or motor-vehicle en-
gine which is sold or otherwise disposed of;

(3) Every such vehicle which is bought or otherwise ac-
quired and wrecked by the wrecker.

(b) Every said record shall state the name and address of
the person from whom such vehicle was purchased or acquired
and the date thereof and the name and address of the person
to whom any such vehicle or motor vehicle body, chassis, or
motor vehicle engine was sold or otherwise disposed of and the
date thereof and a sufficient description of every such vehicle,
body, chassis, or motor vehicle engine by the name and identi-
fying numbers thereon to identify same.

(e) Every such record shall be open to inspection at any
time by any peace officer.

Violation of this section shall be deemed to be a misde-
meanor and upon conviction shall be punishable by a fine of
One ($1. 00) dollar to One hundred ($100. 00) dollars.

61. REPORT OF STOLEN AND RECOVERED MOTOR VEHICLES.
Every sheriff, chief of police, or peace officer upon receiving
reliable information that any vehicle has been stolen shall im-
mediately report such theft to the Department unless prior
thereto information has been received of the recovery of such
vehicle. Any said officer upon receiving information that any
vehicle, which he has previously reported as stolen, has been
recovered, shall immediately report the fact of such recovery
to the local sheriff's office or police department and to the De-
partment.

62. REPORTS OF OWNERS OF STOLEN AND RECOVERED VE-
HICLES, (a) The owner, or person having a lien or encum-
brance upon a registered vehicle which has been stolen or em-
bezzled, may notify the Department of such theft or embezzle-
ment, but in the event of an embezzlement may make such re-
port only after having procured the issuance of a warrant for
the arrest of the person charged with such embezzlement.
